We work from both of my books, The Art of Film Funding: Alternative Financing Concepts and The Art of Manifesting: Creating your future.
You need to come to the class with the following:
1. A 5 year plan for your life, clearly defining what you will be doing in 5 years.
2. Your purpose as a filmmaker in one strong sentence.
3. A log line for your film
WHY ONE CLASS A MONTH? Well, I decided one day seminars are like a hit-and-run. I give scores of ideas and information and then leave you to do it all alone. That's not what I want to do. I like to work with you, listen to your concept of the film and help you find your pitch and the proposal and sometimes broaden your own idea of what the film can be. Together you, the class, and I work on your project to bring it to a higher level.
Funders know when you are dancing around an idea for a film and you can't get money until you can clearly see your project, know the story points, understand the heart of the film and know how to visually tell your story. This is what I want you to achieve in the 3 sessions.
Besides the class, I will work with you personally from my home, on the phone or even in person. You will be able to send me your newest version of your proposal and I will zap it back via email with suggestions and we can have personal discussions via phone. You can call me to give me your most current pitch and discuss your personal fears and talk about what you need to do to raise the money and make your special film.
The second edition of The Art of Film Funding book has great ideas and you can read that before, (I will mail to you once you join) and during the class so we can discuss ideas in the book and work on new things in class. I will focus on, how to pitch in front of people without freezing, how to ask for discounts and donations and get them, how to contact your potential funders and what to say to make that special connection. You know the myriad of things needed to fund your film, well; we will cover as many as possible during this course. Most of all you will be in a comfortable place to relax and make some mistakes and learn from each other.
This course includes both books, the Funding and the Manifesting. I want to work on both sides of your brain. We can't make things happen (manifest) if we don't have a "to do" list and work on it each day. But, our vision of the film and our long term personal vision must be in sync. Once we have these defined then we can begin creating our future, have fun and make that film.
This is a working class, you will have things to write and read between classes and together we will see your film move from ideas to concrete concepts and written materials that reach in and touch hearts, which I believe is the essence of funding.
I only want totally dedicated filmmakers who are ready to fund films.

The cost is $90.00. You have access to both the Art of Funding & Art of Manifesting online classes and three teleseminars, one each month. During these teleseminars you will have a chance to ask questions, work on the foundation of your film. Each person will have time to discuss their own film and be given personal guidance. I will also be online twice a month for more information and advice. Plus I will review your goals, your purpose as a filmmaker and your proposal twice and give you a personal consultation to pitch your film. You will also get a list of funding organizations, my information on using the 990 to fund your film and a list of 43 things to do to create a successful funding party.
