Personal Consultations
Filmmakers are a special breed. You are talented in many ways; however, with so much to do, filmmaking can become overwhelming. That's why I wrote The Art of Film Funding: Alternative Financing Concepts now at Borders, Amazon and on this web site. I have mentored and helped many films and I know some of the pit falls and some of the short cuts to funding your film. I have found my information can be helpful when you are "stuck" or just want some guidance. Filmmaking, even though it is a collaborative job, can be extremely lonely and brainstorming with someone can get you back on track and bring in those dollars. Before we have our consultation, I read your proposal and see your trailer for a documentary or I read your outline and see your package for your feature so I fully understand your film. Once I read and review your materials we set a time for our consultation. I like it when you send me a list of things you want to discuss in the consultation. This helps you get clear on your current needs. Together we create a working plan for funding your film for the next few months. Most important is to see that you have created the foundation for your film. You need an award winning proposal and a money making pitch. If you don't have these, we can take your existing proposal or synopsis to a higher level. Working with pitches is something I love to do; your pitch is your greatest asset for funding your film. Funders can tell in 30 seconds if they like your film or not. I know, from my grant funding that if filmmakers don't grab my interest immediately then you lose me as a potential donor. Sometimes you only have 30 seconds to connect to the potential donor. Your pitch is that important to raising the money.
The Economist 2008, June 7th, states: If you are funding a short, feature or doc, funding opportunities abound. There is money everywhere. I work with all three generas. All of you will get your largest funding from people. Knowing where to find people and knowing how to approach them is paramount to success for any genera. We can cover this in your consultation. You create the agenda based on what you need at this time in production. If you are interested in a consultation, just click on the link below, pay the $95.00 fee and email me your materials. If you are a NALIP, ISE-NY OR WIF member there is a discount available.
Carole Dean CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE I met Carole Dean about a year a go with nothing more than my notes, my passion and my profound desire to do my first Documentary. I remember she encouraged me and guided me through every single step in order to accomplish my project. Every time someone asks me how are you doing this? I always respond: It is not just me I have a wonderful Angel who is by my side at all times, guiding me, supporting me and pushing me no matter what happens she is always helping me to keep my focus on things that really matter. I'm so grateful I found her and now we are working together, like she said: " is all about the journey". Carole has a tremendous wisdom, faith in you and persistence to keep you going. Be prepared because she will take you on a wonderful journey. --Natalia Berry, filmmaker I found Carole’s guardian angel program to truly be the guardian angel for my film. Her knowledge has been the difference in getting this film made. By changing areas in the script from her suggestions has made all the difference to the clarity and flow of the story. If you are looking for someone who will guide you through the experience of filmmaking she is the right choice. She has been as excited about the process and I have been and taking an interest in my goals and dreams for my life and helping them to come true.—Karen McCann
"I would like to take a moment to thank you for giving so very much of yourself over the past three days to a group of very hungry and excited filmmakers. We were all so eager to meet and learn from you, and I am reading your books now with great interest. I gained an immense amount from the panel you were on regarding film finance, and the all day workshop you conducted on fundraising and manifesting was tremendous. I came away with renewed direction about how to go about just about everything! Your methods are so clear and techniques so specific, you provide a roadmap for those who participate in your programs, and I am thrilled to be one of them." Cid Collins Walker, Executive Producer & Director
